Welcome Snowmobilers
It’s that time of the year that we all look forward to, fall is coming and that means snow is on it’s way. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, it’s going to be colder with more snow this winter. Let’s hope they are closer and more accurate this winter.

As usual we have some problems to work out on the club trail system including landowner changes, a couple of bridges to repair or replace, and re-routing some of the trail. Hopefully all of these issues will get worked out with the help of the club directors, officers, and help from all club members.

Speaking about club members, we need to increase our membership numbers, and get our new snowmobilers, and our younger snowmobilers actively involved in the club. If you know anyone like this, encourage them to join the club and attend the meetings. Our club needs more active members. Most snowmobilers assume that the Michigan Trail Permit is all that is needed to make the trail happen, unfortunately they are wrong. Trail permit fees only pay for supplies to mark the trail, and equipment to groom them with. All of the labor and manpower has to be provided by the club members, free of charge. A lot of the older members that have been doing all of this work for the past 20-30 years are not able to do as much, and that is why we need help from the new and younger snowmobilers. The future of the club trails depend on your involvement.

Grooming the trails is another important aspect of the club. All of the groomer operators are snowmobilers, and would like to be out riding when the fresh snow comes. Unfortunately, they usually give up that time to groom the trails so that they are in great shape for the rest of the snowmobilers. They need your help, call the grooming director if you are able to run any type of farm or construction equipment and he will get you trained in running a groomer.
